The Centre for Shamanic Arts
ABOUT US
Formed in 2008, the Centre for Shamanic Arts is an affiliated lodge of the Deer Tribe Metis Medicine Society (DTMMS)
The Sweet Medicine Sundance Path is an ancient shamanic path. It is a Twisted Hairs path, which means it braids (or twists) old knowledge with new; the old becomes stronger with the new, and the new is deepened and anchored by the old. Because of our unbroken lineage, going back thousands of years, there is a depth to what has been passed on that combines with what is needed now to feed, heal and empower people.
We say the knowledge "grows corn".
There is not a single definition of shamanism. On the Sweet Medicine Sundance Path we understand it to mean awakening in our everyday life to the gifts and mystery of Spirit.
We offer extensive training in shamanic practice to develop inner healing, clearing, balance and care for self, life and others. At the very heart of our path is the determination for integrity in mind, body, heart and soul, to be the light in the world and part of the solution.
The Deer Tribe is the organisation that takes care of upholding standards, disseminating teachings, printing material and looking after the day to day so that the Sweet Medicine Sundance Path may flourish.
We are based at Unstone Grange in Derbyshire and offer a wide range of regular and occasional workshops and groups
